Our Story

A family atelier — now with its own lab.

Diamond House began in 1979 as a small jewellery showroom on Jotiba Road, Kolhapur — built by Prasad Kolhapure's instinct for stones and a refusal to sell anything he wouldn't wear himself. Today, his daughter Aakanksha, a trained gemmologist, has added what the family always wanted: a proper in-house gemmological laboratory.

Two names. One promise.

The people behind it

Prasad Kolhapure

Founder

Four decades in the trade. The hand that picks the rough, negotiates the cut, and signs off on every finished piece. If a stone makes it into the showroom, it's because Prasad said yes.

Aakanksha Kolhapure

Gemmologist · Lab Director

Professional gemmologist, second generation. Runs the lab at 607 Krystal Square, Nagala Park, Kolhapur — refractive index, specific gravity, microscopic inclusions, treatment detection. Every identification report carries her signature because she personally examined the stone.

What sets us apart

Built on four things

  • Heritage since 1979

Founded as a family jewellery house in Kolhapur, we've spent four decades earning the trust of families across Maharashtra — one stone, one piece, one customer at a time.

  • Trained gemmologists

Aakanksha Kolhapure is a professional gemmologist who personally examines every stone. Every identification report is signed by a human — never by a machine alone.

  • In-house laboratory

Refractometer, polariscope, microscope, specific-gravity testing — the same equipment used by international labs, here at our facility at 607 Krystal Square, Nagala Park, Kolhapur.

  • Authenticated before it leaves

Every diamond, gemstone and finished piece is graded, photographed and issued a identification report you can verify by QR code — anywhere in the world.
